Roles and permissions

What owners, Team admins and members can do, and what Create, Update and Delete mean.

Everyone on a team can view

Every member can see the team's links, QR codes and analytics, whatever their permissions.

The permissions

Permission What it lets someone do
Create Make new links and QR codes, including in bulk.
Update Edit links and QR codes, and pause or resume them.
Delete Delete links and QR codes.
Team admin Everything above, plus manage the team's people (see below).

A member with none of these can still view everything but can't make changes.

Team admin

Ticking Team admin automatically ticks Create, Update and Delete too. A Team admin can:

  • invite people and cancel invitations (except invitations that grant Team admin),
  • change ordinary members' permissions,
  • remove ordinary members.

A Team admin can't manage other Team admins, change their own permissions, remove the owner, or grant Team admin to others. Their own row on the Team page is shown greyed out so you can see it but not edit it.

The owner

The owner is the person whose account created the team, unless ownership was transferred. The owner has every permission and is the only person who can:

  • manage billing and change plan,
  • rename the team and turn the weekly summary email on or off,
  • give people Team admin,
  • transfer ownership.

The owner's row is always shown as having every permission and can't be edited or removed.

Changing someone's permissions

  1. Open Team.
  2. Tick or untick the boxes on their row.
  3. Choose Save permissions. You'll see "Permissions saved for ...".

Members you can't manage don't have an editable row. See Invite team members and I can't do something.
