Quick start

Create an account, make your first short link and QR code, and see your first clicks.

This takes about a minute.

1. Create your account

  1. Go to the home page and paste a web address into the box, then choose Shorten it, or use Sign up free in the header.
  2. Enter your name, email address and a password, then choose Create account.
  3. Open the verification link we email you. You need to confirm your email address before you can use Shrtly.
  4. If you started from the home page, your web address is filled in on the new link form once you've verified.

Note: If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, or choose Resend verification email on the page you're shown. If you typed your address wrong, choose Update your email on that page. See Your profile and password.

  1. Open Links and choose New link (or Create your first link on a new account).
  2. Enter the Destination URL, the page people should end up on.
  3. Add an optional Title so the link is easy to find later.
  4. Choose Save. You'll see a "Link created" message and the link appears in your list with its short address underneath.

Share that short address anywhere. Details are in Create a short link.

3. Make a QR code

  1. Open QR Codes and choose New QR code.
  2. Pick one of your links, or type a new destination to create a link and continue.
  3. Choose colours and a shape, then choose Save QR code.
  4. To get the image for printing, find the code in your list, choose its Edit button, and use Download PNG. Download from there rather than before saving, so your scans are counted as QR scans.

More options are in Design and export QR codes.

4. Watch the clicks arrive

Your dashboard shows clicks over time and where they come from. Open any link from the Links page to see its own analytics. See Understand your dashboard.
