Design and export QR codes

The designer shows a live preview as you make changes.

Presets

Start with a preset: Classic, Rounded, Dots, Ocean, Sunset or Midnight. Each sets colours and shapes in one click, and you can keep adjusting afterwards.

Colours

• Dot color: the colour of the pattern.
• Background color: the colour behind it.
• Use a gradient on the dots: tick this to blend the dots into a second Gradient color.

Shape

• Dot style: Square, Dots, Rounded, Classy, Classy rounded or Extra rounded.
• Corner style: the three large corner markers can be Square, Dot or Extra rounded.

Frame

Add a banner above or below the code with your own call to action. Under Frame, choose Top banner or Bottom banner and edit the Frame text (it starts as "SCAN ME"). Choose None for no frame.

Logo

On plans that include it you can upload your own logo, which is placed in the centre of the code. Choose Remove logo to take it off. On other plans the logo section shows an upgrade prompt.

Codes on plans without the logo feature carry a small Shrtly wordmark in the corner. It's removed on plans that include logos. See Plans and limits.

Download

• Download PNG: a high-resolution image, good for print and screens. Available on every plan.
• Download SVG: a scalable vector file for professional printing, available on plans that include vector export.

Downloads include your frame and, where applicable, the wordmark.

Important: Always test a new code by scanning it with a phone before you print. See My QR code won't scan.

Saving

Design changes aren't stored until you choose Save QR code. Downloading doesn't save.

For the download to count scans as QR scans, download from an already saved code: on the QR Codes page choose the code's Edit button, then download. A code downloaded from the new-code screen before saving isn't tagged, so its scans show up as ordinary link clicks.
